We spent a nice day in Aix having lunch with a blogging friend, Meredith. The weather was just perfect with blue skies and sunshine. It was such a pleasure to be outside.

Always taken with doors. I especially liked the color of the blue door again the yellow walls.

Aix is the home to many fountains, part of what makes it such a charming city.

Weathered shutters are charming too.

There are saints and angels to watch over you overhead.
I wish I could come to Aix and lunch with you and Meredith! I’m totally jealous!
I was so nice out and thanks to you, I have another good address in Aix for lunches out
I agree that I wish I could be there sitting in the sunshine listening to the water tinkle into the fountain. Aaah.
My youngest brother, the conductor, worked in Aix for a summer a few years ago. His family came with him. I would love to visit this beautiful city.
I love the combination of blues and yellows. It is so very sunny and bright.
Lovely photos as always. So glad you share them.
looks beautiful and nice and quiet compared to the summer months.

so lovely! provence has this eternal sunshine town feel. great for retirement and relaxation!
Aix will forever live in my mind from my introduction to it in the pages of M.F.K. Fisher’s book “Map of Another Town” though I’ve never seen it in person (not yet anyway)….and she mentions the fountains quite a lot.
