Buttes Chaumont

I recently met a new blogging friend up in the 19th arrondissement and we walked around the Buttes Chaumont park. I haven’t been there in years. The park is fascinating as it was created out of an old rock quarry, all of the hills and grottos man made, along with fences looking like wood but made of concrete. It’s a nice place to visit off of the usual tourist track.

I arrived on the metro which is above ground for part of the way. This is a nice way to see Paris. This was line 2 but line 6 is above ground the most.

Evidence of spring. There were beautiful tulips and pansies everywhere.

Isn’t this pretty?

From the top of the hill you can see Sacre Coeur which isn’t as close as this photo may make you think.

Spring’s confetti thrown by a blooming tree.

And a look at the waterfall in the grotto.

  1. Ooooh I wonder if you met Pariskarin … your photos are stunning, as always.

April in Paris — just love it.

    Cheers from Sydney.

  2. I love the pics you posted here. 🙂 Funny, I stopped by because I was going to reference you in a post, too, and then I saw this! Terrific! I’m still working on the post, but I am going to link these pictures in, if that’s okay with you. I’d like to send some folks your way to see your photos of that day.

    Take care,
