The rue St Honore, lined with posh shops, restaurants and hotels is a street I’m not on very often but this last time I wandered there I found some interesting things.

How about these shoes? You don’t see shoes like this very often. I don’t wear heels anymore in any case.

Place Vendome is nearby-always spectacular.

Light on buildings always captures my attention.

Aren’t the red tables and chairs on the sidewalk great?

I rather like these shoes with the “jewels” on the toes. Every once in a while I wonder about my taste-or lack of it.

I usually look at the Eiffel Tower from Trocodero but the other day I went to the other end of the Champ de Mars for a look. They have an artistic display there called the Wall of Peace with a lovely look at the tower.

The glass walls say peace in a number of languages.

Another view.

180 degrees in the other direction is the Ecole Militaire.

This looks like a wedding dress to me. I don’t know why she was sitting on a bench with black shoes talking to these people. Maybe she was there for some photos in her dress.

As I was leaving I saw this car nearby. I’m always surprised to see cars like this in France.

Next door to where I now live is a beautiful building. I’m always looking at it as I pass and I am struck even more by it’s fantastic architecture when I see it from across the street. I’m guessing that it is in the Art Nouveau style since plants and curves are involved.

The door. Just look at all of those figures-mostly children for some reason-above the door and the shape! Love it.

A bird in the middle and a mouse on the corner.

Lovely woman with flowing hair. To the right of the curve are pigeon heads.

Stange looking monkey figure.

Sculpted vines going up the middle of the building. There are vines on either side too.

A kitty kat. There are mice on either side of the window. Lots of whimsey here.

I’ve been to Sainte Chapelle several times now. It was built by King Louis the 9th to house the crown of thorns that he bought back from the Crusades in the middle east. It’s now kept at Notre Dame but the Chapelle remains.

The lower chapel where you enter the building. This was were the commoners were allowed. Lovely but no stained glass.

Here’s some of the famous blue stained glass found upstairs. The gold structure was where the crown of thorns was kept I believe.

These two guys are on a door upstairs. I always wonder if they were involved with the building of Sainte Chapelle.

This lady was taking a photo there with her Ipad.

There’s a lot of damage done there but this one remains. I liked the angels.

Time for another group of unrelated photos except for the fact that they were all taken in Paris.

When we were at dinner the other night with friends, this old bottle of armagnac was pulled out. It’s really strong but I had a little anyway.

I just thought this window above a restaurant was pretty with the tin roof, the window and the flowers.

The famous bookstore. It’s really small and crowded and when there are a lot of people inside I don’t go in.

Three girls sitting in the sun on a staircase along the Seine, arranged rather artistically I thought.

Lovely iron work.

Seen on the door going into a unisex toilet.

Place de Clichy is not my favorite area of Paris. It is really congested with traffic and pedestrians and I’ve just never really liked it but, the other day, a friend and I were looking for a shop a few blocks off of Place de Clichy and I found it to be a wonderful area full of shops and restaurants.

I loved this window for a shoe repair shop full of ancient tools.

There was a used clothing shop with this interesting stuffed ostrich. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one before. The shop itself had a lot of dressy clothing which looked mostly like mother of the bride dresses but from the 60′s.

A very international neighborhood.

I’m not sure what these plants are. I think some sort of fruit is inside the little “lanterns”. I always see them in the autumn and I love the bright color.

Some rather upscale grafitti.

In the other direction is a private gambling club.

Playing some music at the entry to the Montmartre cemetery.
