Mousehole is the actual name of a small Cornish village which was fun to walk around. It isn’t pronounced as an American would pronounce it but sort of like “mouzall”.

A look at its tiny harbor when the tide is out.

There were several shops there that sold beautiful glass.

Would you look at this cat? Isn’t he or she the cutest thing? Just surveying the world below.

This cute little man came down the street right below the cat and told us that there were 30 cats just on this street alone. Two of them were his. He does videos for Youtube about Mousehole. If you want to see one visit Youtube and look at Penzanceparish.channel. You can see Mousehole in action.

We went up the hill and bit and saw an bird rescue center. All we saw in the cages were seagulls which are huge, by the way, compared to the ones I’m used to. Some can have a six foot wing span.

Colorful post office there.

I didn’t know it before but across the channel from France and its Mont St Michel is the British equivalent, St Michael’s Mount. It was also once a religious place but is now topped by a castle, still privately owned but now a National Trust property.

Here is a photo(of a poster) of what is looks like from above. It’s one of those places that can only be reached by boat once the tide comes in. You can approach it from a causeway when the tide is down.

My photo taken from the shore on a misty day into the sun so I couldn’t get a clear shot. We were there on a beautiful sunny day and walked to the island on the path.

The castle on the top reached after a bit of a climb.

A look at the causeway down below.

On the way up you pass a giant stone that they call the Giant’s Heart but they also had this little heart in the pavement as well.

I took quite a few photos inside but here is just one from inside.

I met a friend in Cornwall and we set out to explore the area. The village of St Ives, where we stayed, was really great.

To get there you have to change trains at St Erth and take a little historic bay line, a ten minute ride.

Here’s a look at the little harbor there. Isn’t the water a wonderful color? I was expecting green water, not turquoise.

This little hill was what was called “The Island” even though it isn’t one. Note the dark gray in the sky. About ten minutes after I took this photo it started raining. We mostly had sun but had some serious wind too, something Cornwall is known for.

This little B&B was called The Norway House. I’m guessing it must have been started by some immigrants from Norway.

Is there anything better than the sun rising over the sea?

I’m out of the country across the channel in England, Cornwall to be exact. I hope I can post some photos from there but just in case, I saved some photos from here and there around Paris.

I saw this sweet little cat on top of a car in the Marais. He loved the sun and posing for me.

This frame was put on a wall by the Canal St Martin with a note asking for people to take a photo in front of it and send it in to an email address. I found the grafitti artists on line but couldn’t find any photos taken there.

The Costes Hotel now has a fragrance shop with roses behind water filled circles which made a great photo.

I saw this on the side of a Hausmann style building. Usually there is just the name and date of the architect but in this case there was also the architect tool and a flower which I liked.

There was a pigeon across the courtyard from our bedroom which laid some eggs in a next she and her mate made. She sat on it day and night for the usual 18 days but they never hatched for some reason. I wasn’t looking forward to the noise the birds would have made but I would have liked to have seen the mother feeding them.

I had been reading about a new coffee place on rue St Honore and made a stop there the other day. I’m not a coffee drinker but had the tea instead. It has a very nice ambience.

I liked the green cup and leaf shaped saucer.

My tea.

There’s lots of wood and a soothing green color.

My friend and I sat upstairs and I loved looking down on the street.

An elegant bicycle rider.

Whenever I’m near the Maille Mustard Boutique I go in. All that they do with mustard fascinates me.

A classy exterior.

Someone in their marketing department had the great idea of making aprons, towels and oven mitts with the Maille name on them. That’s new since the last time I was there.

You can get mustard decanted into special pots-white wine or chablis mustard. It tastes really good.

I saw this poster on the wall and when I took the photo the girl working there told my friend and I how good this flavor of mustard was on toasted bread. She was right. It makes a great hors d’ouvre. My friend and I got the last two jars.
