I visited a market with a friend the other day, new to me, and found some new things. The market was on Boulevard Raspail.

This sweet man and his wife were featured on the Food Network in the States for their foie gras. He was very nice, gave us a taste of what he sold and showed us a photo of their place near Bordeaux. (Here is a link to the markets and days where you can find him: http://www.bestfoiegras.com/markets.php

A little further away and you can see the name: Laffitte.

He sold some wine to go with the foie gras and was surprised that we, not being English, knew what “plonk” was.

He gave us a small taste of this sauterne once sold to the king which was very good, not as sweet as some.
