Not only do we have friends visiting us, we also have a couple of sunny days ahead so we are making the best of it and showing them what we know of our new area. Rain is on its way. I’m not sure what we will do when that happens but I’m sure we will be fine.

We picked them up at the train station at La Rochelle and went right on into the city. These two towers, which I have shown before, are so impressive guarding the entrance to the harbor.

The day before there had been a diving competition from the tower on the left as you can see by this poster. I don’t mind miss seeing it in person because I’m not fond of huge crowds and I don’t do well standing in the sun. It may be on TV later.

A beautiful day to sit outside in the sun at a café, as you can see.

There is an interesting sculpture on the edge of the harbor showing French settlements. It’s hard to see but there’s a little symbol at New Orleans and, of course, all over Canada up above.

Love this door with the cute anchor. Maybe I should do that.
By the way, at the suggestion of a reader of my blog, I am going to have a little contest coming up. I’ll post about it when our company leaves.

  1. Great photos. Diving off the towers seems really dangerous, but I guess all cliff diving is dangerous. I’m looking forward to your contest. I hope the prize is one of your photos!
