We were in Provence just a bit ahead of the full blown lavender blooming but it had started and we stopped several times to walk along the rows of the bushes and take photos.

Not only was there lavender, but there were fields which you can see a strip of in the back, full of lavender flowers. I never did find out what they were but they didn’t smell good.

Love how they stretch out into the distance.

Great clouds that day too. The winds up high stretch out the clouds and make the edges feathery.

Here’s a field of those lavender flowers.

We went to the Abbaye de Senanque one morning too. The lavender was just starting to bloom so it wasn’t as dramatic as it can be.

  1. I’ve never been to Provence when the lavender was in bloom. I need to put that on my to-do list. Does the lavender smell good while in the field?

  2. The color of the lake is lovely. I just had a friend return from Provence-he said the lavender is starting to bloom.
