Sunday in the Park

Another beautiful day dawned on Sunday and Maurice and I headed outside to visit Parc André Citroën, a park built on the site of what was once a plant for making bleach (Javel) and then the site of a automobile plant, that of Citroën, a French car famous for its suspension. André Citroën, on an interesting side note, was famous for advertising and even advertised his car on the side of the Eiffel Tower.

We got out at the metro stop to find this beautiful bridge, Pont Mirabeau.

For twelve Euros you can go up this tethered air balloon. The Eiffel Tower is nearby so I imagine there is a good view. Too cheap to do it, plus there was a long line.

There were two of these green houses. We went in one and it was really hot and full of rather dry looking plants from Australia.

And the first sign of Spring, daffodils. They always make me happy.

  1. So happy to see the weather is beautiful and you are gallivanting around Paris. The sky looks amazing in that balloon pick. I think Grace stayed with a family near that park.

  2. Nice photo with the reflection. I adore daffodils as well and have a large bunch by my chair right now. I just said to Rod this morning that they make my heart smile.

Is the former Citröen plant on an island in the Seine, or is that something else?
