Maurice and I often stopped at the Magnolia Cafe after running around Town Lake, usually on a Sunday. This is one of the first places we went when we first started dating.
There is usually a 45 minute wait to get a table. We always bring the paper to read.
I always get Migas, eggs cooked with onions, peppers, cheese and tortilla. It’s a great dish.
At my high school reunion last September I reconnected with an old friend and it turns out that she and her husband live in Blanco, a town near Austin. This is the old town stretch.
Another building there that I liked.
We met my friend and her husband in Blanco at the Red Bud Cafe where we had really good sandwiches. They had had boards on the wall charting the rain fall through the years. As you can see, there was a really large amount in May. The flash flood did a lot of damage and there were some deaths. There has been no rain since then.
The cheerful table covers there.
Our friends have a cattle ranch and we went out to have a look at some of the cattle. They were very friendly as we had some “snacks” that they liked. We saw deer and turkeys too.
