Friday Night Lights

There was a TV series set in Texas about high school football called Friday Night Lights. I finally got to experience it myself by going to a high school football game where my granddaughter goes, the Carroll Dragons. They are a very good team and were way ahead when we left after the third quarter. I’ll stay until the end if it’s a close game. It was interesting sitting there and watching teenagers and younger kids racing around hardly watching the game. The half time show was good with with a dance routine by girls in cute outfits and hats who were all able to leap into the air and land in splits without injury. At least no one had to be carried off the field afterwards.

Pretty spiffy stadium.
The football players walked past us at the entry level led by some drummers.
And here they are running out the dragon’s mouth onto the field. You can see the dancers in line.
The sun set during the first quarter. It was really hot but at least not 105 degrees as it had been a week ago. It was so great when the sun set.
A look at the beautiful sky over the field.

By the time I post this, I will be back in Paris. It won’t be permantately but for a couple of months. I hope I can split my time between there and Texas. We will see. Life is full of surprises.
