Street Art

On a recent trip to Montmartre, I saw a lot of street art.

All along a short street were images of clothes made to look as if they were hanging on a line.

This artist has over 500 plaster casts of his face that are painted all over Paris. I think a lot of them are in Montmartre.

This lady artist recently died. Her art was almost always of a dark haired woman. She went from being a street artist to having shows in galleries.

Fun

I visited a fun area in Dallas called Bishop Arts. It was full of cute shops and was great for a stroll.

The interior of a book shop which was also a bar and a cafe. It didn’t have many books actually.
Lots of street art.
Entrance to a restaurant.
Cute ice cream shop.

Seen in an alley.
Colorful.
I liked the interior of this shop which had a little bit of everything.

Street Art

Montmartre is loaded with street art. You can find it on just about every corner.

A tatoo store.
Very dramatic.
Look at all of this!
Art in a wine store.
I see him a lot. I guess he sticks his face in plaster to get this.
And here he is with wings.

A friend of mine told me she was making a dip and thought she was adding cumeric but afterwards realised that she had added cinnamon. Luckily, it wasn’t a huge amount. She didn’t tell her husband and he scarfed it down with gusto. It reminded me of the time, many years ago, when I made kaluha, the coffee liquor, and put it in an empty wine bottle but didn’t make it clear enough that it was no longer wine. I was making spagehetti sauce and decided to add some red wine and dumped in the kaluha by mistake. Needless to say, no body would eat it. I was hoping I had discovered a really good secret to good sauce.

Old Times

I was in a part of Paris, the Marais, in an area I haven’t been in for years. It really is interesting.

Some unusual street art.
I love me a red door.
The other crepe place. A more famous one is just down the street.
Flowers in the sun. Aren’t they pretty?
Very large art work on the side of a building. Lots of art and graffiti in the area.
Thank you for your support. Some construction going on.

Before the Rain

There is 100% chance of rain for the next two days so I got out for some photos while I had the chance.

It would be nice to be able to stop here and have a drink. It will be at least sometime in February before that happens.
I guess we could all get together for drinks if we wore these.
Saw these in a florist just starting to bloom.
Cute mosaic dragon on rue du Dragon. It’s not by the famous mosaic artist whose pieces that I’ve been searching for.
I see quite a few of this type of art around Paris.
It’s nice to see a red door at the end of a cobble stone street.

The 12th

We once lived in the 12th and it seems like a really long time ago. I walked around the area with a friend the other day to look at it again.

Nation, my old hood.
This was new to me-the Ministry of the Interior.
Street art, kind of graffiti, but very artistic done on paper and then pasted on.
We saw these artistically arranged veggies in the Aligre market, one of the first I ever visited.
Some more good street art.
Yet another gorgeous flower shop. I just love that smell when you pass by.
There are a lot of these passages near Place de la Bastille.
