I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving. Over the years since I’ve lived in France, Thanksgiving doesn’t mean as much as it once did. My first few years I really missed it-the food, visits with family and friends and football. I never thought I’d spend Thanksgiving in a hospital yet, here I am. It wasn’t that bad as a dear friend brought me a Thanksgiving meal. Hard to beat turkey and stuffing. There was a nut pie too. I told some of the staff that it was Thanksgiving and I don’t think any of them had heard of it before.
So I continue on with my rehab and will head home on December 6th hopefully without a limp.
Hi, I’ve had you on my mind since last post, it’s good that you have a date to look forward to, for going home. I agree with your thoughts on Thanksgiving, in my heart it’s reserved for visits to the States. Times with family. Take care, sending you strength, light, prayers xx
Glad you’re doing well, even if it’s basic food. I just found out that a new hip is necessary, and alas the US system isn’t nearly as comprehensive as the French — I gather that rehab is more DIY.
A friend who got a new knee a year ago says it is well worth the time and trouble. Hang in there.
Linda, I thought the computer repair had erased you from “favorites”. Instead I found your blog listed as Linda’s Journal . So nice to see your fabulous photos and hear about your life once again Hope that your recovery goes very well and fast though I know it is tougher than a hip replacement.Good Luck -hope that it will not slow you down one bit. Have a Happy Holiday season ahead:) Gail in CA.
My sister has had both knees replaced at different times, very successfully, in her sixties. She used to waddle, because of the pain, but now she walks normally and does a lot of walking. Good luck with your recovery.
